August 15, 2019, marked the beginning of the end for Susan Nyaga, a Nairobi businesswoman and politician who contested the Embu County women representative seat in 2017. According to her friends, troubles began when a powerful permanent secretary in the energy sector ended their two-year relationship.
The permanent secretary, with close State House links, was known to frequently visit Nyaga's high-end apartment in Lavington on Thursdays and Fridays every week. Their relationship was filled with luxury and romance, including enjoying good moments in bed.
However, the relationship came to an end when the permanent secretary claimed that state security was monitoring him. Nyaga has been left depressed and heartbroken, with SMS and pictures from the permanent secretary serving as a painful reminder of their past relationship.
The permanent secretary, one of the richest in President Uhuru's government, had taken Nyaga on a trip to Italy and had even confronted her about exchanging words with a man at the Hotel Intercontinental in Nairobi.
