On August 15, 2019, Bomet Governor Joyce Laboso passed away at the Nairobi Hospital at the age of 58, according to family sources.
Her death comes just two weeks after she returned from a medical trip to India, where she had been hospitalized in London.
Earlier, the hospital had announced that she had been placed under close observation and bed rest.
Deputy Governor Hillary Barchok had urged residents to stay calm and pray for her recovery on July 14, 2019.
