On the second episode of East Africa Got Talent, singer Vanessa Mdee shared a personal secret that has inspired many. The talented artist revealed that she is clinically blind in one eye.
Her revelation came after being impressed by a contestant named Mark, who was born with cataracts and is also a cancer survivor. Despite his challenges, Mark's soulful singing left a lasting impression on Vanessa.
Vanessa, who has not let her condition hold her back, encouraged Mark to pursue his dreams, saying, 'It is unusual for someone so young to sing so soulfully, you can tell that you have been through stuff. I'm clinically blind in one eye as well, but that has not stopped me from pursuing my biggest dreams.'
Her words of encouragement were not limited to Mark alone. She also told him, 'Let that be the fuel for you no matter what happens at the end of this competition, to me you are a winner and you're going to continue winning.'
Vanessa's inspiring story serves as a reminder that challenges are a part of life, but they should not stop us from achieving our goals.
