Kenyan international Yusuf Mainge made a dream move to Europe after joining Slovakian side FK Pohronie in July, signing a three-year contract with the club.

Mainge, who arrived in Slovakia on Monday, August 12, 2019, could not make the starting line-up for his debut match due to limited training sessions.

However, he was introduced in the second half when his side was leading 4-0, earning his first-ever European bow.

Mainge went on to help FK Pohronie keep a clean sheet as they scored five more goals in the half to snatch a 9-0 comfortable win in the second round of Slovak Cup.

FK Pohronie, founded in 2012, sealed promotion to the top tier league last season.

Mainge attributed his soaring career to AFC Leopards, who scouted him from Kakamega High School.

He expressed gratitude to his former teammates, coaches, and the club's management for their support.

Mainge, handed the No.4 jersey, will be hoping to play an integral part in FK Pohronie's set-up this season.
