On August 15, 2019, a public outcry erupted after DJ Moh, a Kenyan DJ, was captured on camera with a gun visible on his person at the K1 Club during his brother's 36th birthday celebration.

The incident occurred just a month after Inspector General Hillary Mutyambai ordered the arrest of 4,293 unlicensed civilian gun holders who failed to comply with a seven-day ultimatum.

According to regulations, individuals seeking to own firearms must undergo thorough training, be cleared by the DCI, and be at least 21 years old.

The DCI has since confirmed DJ Moh's arrest, sparking renewed debate about gun ownership and control in Kenya.
