On August 14, 2019, Liverpool secured a 5-4 penalty shootout victory over Chelsea in the UEFA Super Cup at the Vodafone Arena in Istanbul, Turkey.
However, the match was briefly disrupted when a pitch invader managed to evade security and sprint across the field before being escorted away by stewards.
According to eyewitnesses, the man gained access to the field beyond the halfway line, near where the players were gathered with the ball at the end of Liverpool's attack.
Footage from the scene showed the man avoiding stewards as he sprinted across the field before being carried away.
This incident is the third time a pitch invader has disrupted a Liverpool game in under two months, following a fan from the away end disrupting their Premier League opener against Norwich at Anfield on August 9, 2019, and Russian swimwear model Kinsey Wolanski momentarily halting the Red's Champions League final against Tottenham in June.
