On August 15, 2019, a dramatic incident unfolded at the Nakuru County headquarters during President Uhuru Kenyatta's visit to launch a new project.

Senator Susan Kihika, who was among the dignitaries waiting to receive the President, found herself at the center of a controversy after a security officer of the President allegedly slapped her.

The incident, which has sparked heated debate, occurred when the security officer, a woman, appeared to be reprimanding Senator Kihika for an unknown reason.

According to eyewitnesses, the Senator had refused to accept a gift from the officer, which led to the altercation.

Other leaders, including Njoro MP Charity Kathambi and Naivasha MP Jayne Kihara, intervened to calm the situation.

The incident has raised questions about how leaders should be treated when there is a dispute.
