On August 13, 2019, a tragic incident occurred in Uasin Gishu, Kenya, where a 35-year-old man, Julius Bor, lost his life after choking on alcohol during a passion session with his 40-year-old lover, Janet Cheruto.
According to a post-mortem report, Julius was highly intoxicated on alcohol at the time of his death. The report revealed that moments before his death, Julius thoroughly vomited and ended up choking.
Julius and Janet had been intimate for more than two years, with Janet being widowed. The couple's relationship was known to be intense, with Julius often traveling from his home in Ngeria, Uasin Gishu, to visit Janet in Chepyakwai.
On the day of the incident, Julius and Janet were on an extreme drinking spree before proceeding to a maize plantation. They left a bar at Chepyakwai centre while highly intoxicated.
Janet was arrested on August 13 but was released from custody the following day. The incident has left the community in shock, with many questioning the circumstances surrounding Julius' death.
