On August 14, 2019, President Uhuru Kenyatta's Jamaican accent left many Kenyans in stitches during a speech at State House in Nakuru.

Uhuru was addressing residents after closing the Nakuru County Assembly building and holding a meeting at State House in Nakuru.

Although he appeared to be joking, Uhuru mentioned his recent trip to Jamaica and how he had learned to speak like the Jamaicans.

"In one week ago during my visit to Jamaica, Jah Ras," Uhuru said, bursting into laughter.

Uhuru had visited Jamaica and Barbados as part of a three-day trip where he met with the country's leaders.

He was the guest of honor at the 57th independence celebrations in Jamaica.
