On Wednesday, President Uhuru Kenyatta reiterated the government's commitment to integrity and honesty in national examinations, emphasizing that the examination process will be fair and secure for students.
Speaking at State House in Nakuru County, the President said reforms implemented by the Jubilee administration to eradicate cheating and other malpractices will be strengthened.
"I reassure you that my government's commitment continues in terms of upholding the values of fairness, integrity and quality in our examinations. That drive is stronger than ever," President Kenyatta said.
He also highlighted the importance of the annual Kenya Music Festival, which he hosted, saying it fosters unity and cohesion by showcasing the country's cultural diversity.
"The festival is a display of remarkable talent and wonderful performances by energetic young people," the President said, adding that the event has entertained, informed, and brought people together.
Regarding the rollout of the competency-based curriculum, President Kenyatta said the arts and music will become integral parts of the system.
