Deputy President William Ruto's camp is in disarray following a proposal to form a coalition between President Uhuru Kenyatta's Jubilee party and the Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) ahead of the 2022 general election.

The proposal, which has been met with resistance from Ruto's allies, has sparked panic within the Tanga Tanga faction of Jubilee party.

According to sources, the proposal was made by Kieleweke, a faction within Jubilee party that is aligned with President Kenyatta.

The proposal puts Ruto in an awkward position, as it comes two months after he ruled out any chances of a merger between the two parties, terming it impossible
