On August 14, 2019, the Energy and Petroleum Regulatory Authority (EPRA) announced a review of fuel prices in Kenya.
According to the review, the prices of super petrol and diesel have decreased by Sh2.86 and Sh3.28 per litre respectively.
However, the price of kerosene has increased by Sh1.98 per litre.
The new prices for super petrol, diesel, and kerosene in Nairobi are Sh112.53, Sh100.60, and Sh103.95 per litre respectively.
Meanwhile, in Mombasa, the prices for the three products are Sh109.89, Sh97.97, and Sh101.32 per litre respectively.
Motorists in Kisumu will pay Sh114.01 for super petrol, Sh102.29 for diesel, and Sh105.64 for kerosene.
Similarly, in Nakuru, the prices are Sh113.01, Sh101.30, and Sh104.65 per litre respectively.
And in Eldoret, Uasin Gishu County, the prices for super petrol, diesel, and kerosene are Sh114.02, Sh102.30, and Sh105.65 per litre respectively.
The changes in fuel prices resulted from a 5.64 per cent decline in the average landed cost of super petrol, a 7.11 per cent decrease in the cost of diesel, and a 1.88 per cent increase in the cost of kerosene.
