Published on August 14, 2019, the African Handball Confederation (CAHB) has cancelled the Zone Five qualifiers for men and instead awarded Egypt the sole slot reserved for the region.
Kenya's handball ladies team, led by coach Jack Ochieng, will now represent the country at the All Africa Games in Rabat, Morocco.
The team, which includes players from Nairobi Water Queens, National Cereals and Produce Board (NCPB), and Ulinzi, has been training at Kenyatta University and will pitch camp at the Nyayo National Stadium.
Coach Ochieng expressed confidence in the team's preparations, saying, 'The preparations are in top gear, we are polishing on the areas we need to improve as we await to depart.'
The final squad of 14 players will be named on August 16, ahead of their departure for the games on August 17.
