On August 14, 2019, a dramatic house raid in Nyali, Mombasa, led to the arrest of three individuals, including the wife of a prominent businessman.
Ali Punjani's wife, Karki Sushmi Ja, a 24-year-old Nepalese national, was among those detained, along with two men of Nepalese and Indian origin.
According to Mombasa police commander Johnston Ipara, the three were taken into custody following the raid on their home.
