Published on August 14, 2019, by Tuko.co.ke, Aden Duale, the majority leader in the National Assembly, has predicted that the 2022 presidential election will be a contest between Raila Odinga and William Ruto.
Speaking in an interview with Citizen TV on August 13, 2019, Duale stated that the election will be between the two leaders and their supporters, dismissing other contenders as mere jesters.
"I can say it clearly that the 2022 election will be between two people, it will be between William Ruto and Raila Odinga, they are the real players in the game, others are just a joke," Duale said.
He further stated that Ruto will be the Jubilee Party's candidate for the presidency and that President Uhuru Kenyatta will not have another candidate, but will instead support the winner chosen by the party's delegates.
Additionally, Duale stated that if Ruto wins the presidency in 2022, he will retire from politics.
