A 41-year-old man was killed by his wife in a fight over alcohol at Hotelit village in Mogotio sub-county, Nakuru County, on Monday night.
According to the police, the couple had been arguing over the husband's reckless behavior and the family's economic losses, which they blamed on his drinking habits.
The woman had reportedly sent her husband to purchase alcohol in a neighboring village for sale, but he returned home drunk instead.
As the couple's quarrel escalated, the woman allegedly struck her husband on the head with a nail-studded club.
Mogotio Directorate of Criminal Investigations Officer Luka Tumbo said the woman was furious when her husband returned home drunk and without alcohol, which they were supposed to sell and buy food.
The suspect is being held at a local police station.
