On August 14, 2019, police in Nakuru Town East launched an operation targeting burglary incidents in the area, resulting in the arrest of a key suspect.
Sub-County Police Commander Ellena Kabukuru led the operation, which focused on areas including Kanyoni and Bondeni.
"The suspect is one of the wanted criminals in the area and our operation will continue as we seek to flush out all criminals with hideouts in the area," said Ms Kabukuru.
The suspect, identified as David Kung'u Njeri, 34, will be arraigned in court on Tuesday.
During the operation, police officers recovered various stolen items, including Kenya Power cables, a CCTV camera, 40 litres of ethanol, three pangas, four Somali swords, a hack saw, and a metal bar.
The police operation will be extended to other parts of the region, including Flamingo Estate, targeting drug traffickers, illegal firearms, and illicit brews.
