On Monday night, a tragic incident occurred in Mogotio Sub County, where a 41-year-old man lost his life in a brutal attack by his wife.
According to the Mogotio Directorate of Criminal Investigations, the incident was sparked by a dispute over alcohol. The victim had been sent by his wife to purchase alcohol in a neighboring village, but he returned home drunk, which led to a heated argument.
The wife, who sells alcohol to villagers alongside her husband, accused him of being reckless and causing economic losses to the family. In a fit of rage, she struck him on the head with a nail-studded club.
‘The information we have is that the woman was furious when the husband returned home drunk and without alcohol which they were supposed to sell and buy food. She hit him on the head with the club,’ said Detective Luka Tumbo.
The suspect is currently being held at a local police station.
