Kenyan rapper Khaligraph Jones has been left stunned after the Music Copyright Society of Kenya (MCSK) offered him a paltry KSh 2,530 for his music royalties.
The amount is a fraction of what Khaligraph claims he is owed for his music being played on various media platforms.
According to Khaligraph, MCSK is a body that collects millions of shillings from musicians across the country, yet it can only offer him a meager KSh 2,530.
He has since taken to social media to express his outrage, stating that anyone can sell their music anywhere without fear of being penalized by MCSK.
He also warned that musicians may one day take the law into their own hands and deal with MCSK accordingly.
Other musicians who have joined Khaligraph in his criticism of MCSK include Holy Dave, Gidi Ogidi, and Fena Gitu.
It's worth noting that this is not the first time musicians have clashed with MCSK, with a similar incident occurring in 2018.
At the time, musicians had accused MCSK of embezzling their royalties and vowed to take action if their grievances were not addressed.
