Published on August 14, 2019, a Nairobi resident's job application for the deputy governor position has raised eyebrows due to its hefty price tag.
Philip Sogoti Chepsat, a self-described voter and resident of Nairobi, has taken out a full-page advert in the Daily Nation, costing him at least Sh115,000 exclusive of tax.
According to the advert, Chepsat is a university graduate with years of experience in public service and is driven by a strong conviction to contribute to improving Nairobi City.
He appeals to Governor Mike Sonko, stating that he looks forward to being part of the leadership in Nairobi and vows to meet, if not exceed, the expectations of the residents.
Notably, Governor Sonko has been without a deputy governor since Polycarp Igathe quit on January 13, 2018, and had earlier shortlisted four female candidates for the position.
