For Maxwell Ndambuki, graduating with a P1 education certificate in 2012 was just the beginning. He hoped to secure a well-paying job to support his elderly parents back in Kitui, but the only teaching position available paid a meager Sh5,000. Undeterred, he joined a friend in Nairobi who worked as a freelance online writer and quickly mastered the skill. Within months, Ndambuki was earning top dollar and his financial dreams had come true.

- Writing and editing: This is the most popular way to make money online. If you have good writing skills, you can write articles, blog posts, product descriptions, and search engine optimization content.
- Blogging: Bloggers create content around a niche area and make money through Google Adsense, sponsored content, or affiliate marketing.
- Transcription: This involves converting audio files to written texts, which requires high-quality headphones for clear sound.
- Data entry: This is one of the easiest gigs to do online, involving inputting data into online forms provided by clients.
- Translation: If you are competent in several languages, you can make money translating documents.
