In a separate incident, two suspected robbers were shot dead during a confrontation with police in Kayole following a botched robbery. The clash, which occurred after a motorcycle rider reported armed men terrorizing locals in Masimba, led to a chase ending in Soweto slums. Two suspects escaped, while six mobile phones, cash, and other valuables were recovered. No officers were injured, though one credited a bulletproof vest for his survival.
