Published on August 13, 2019, a 34-year-old man is recovering at the Narok County Referral Hospital after his wife allegedly bit and cut off his lower lip following a domestic disagreement.
The incident occurred after the man's 27-year-old wife informed him that she wanted to visit her parents in Kisii County, but he asked her to postpone the trip as he looked for money for her transport fare.
According to Benson Onsongo, his wife threatened to commit suicide if he did not provide the money, prompting him to rush to the scene and talk her out of it.
However, on their way back home, she turned and bit off his lower lip before also biting his hand and stomach.
Mr. Onsongo was rushed to Talek Health Center for first aid before being transferred to the Narok County Referral Hospital on Tuesday for further treatment.
Speaking to Citizen Digital, Priscilla Mwarigi, a nurse at the facility, said Mr. Onsongo had been treated and is presently recovering well but that his lower lip was completely bitten off.
