Chelsea's N'golo Kante is a doubt for the UEFA Super Cup clash against Liverpool at the Vodafone Arena on August 14, 2019, after picking up a minor injury in a 4-0 defeat to Manchester United.
Chelsea boss Frank Lampard revealed the status of the French star ahead of the all-important clash, saying Kante picked up a small injury on Sunday and is being assessed.
Lampard expressed optimism about the match, stating, 'I am optimistic about tomorrow's game. I am also proud to be here managing the team. I know the quality of Liverpool too. We know it's going to be a big test but if we play to our maximum we can win the match.'
Despite his side's heavy defeat in their opening Premier League fixture at Old Trafford, Lampard says he is confident of a good result at the end of the match.
On Willian and Rudiger's recoveries, Lampard confirmed they are not yet totally fit for the match, but revealed they will be in the match day squad.
