August 13, 2019 - David 'Cheche' Ochieng, a stalwart defender for Harambee Stars, has made a significant move in his career by signing a one-year contract with Saudi Arabian giants Al Ansar.
After leaving AFC Leopards at the end of the 2018/19 season, Ochieng has found a new home in Saudi Arabia, where he previously played for Al Taawon and was named the league's best defender in his first season.
Before joining Harambee Stars, Ochieng had a successful stint with Tusker FC in the Kenyan Premier League and also played for Nairobi City Stars, where he began his football career.
He was part of the Harambee Stars squad that participated in the Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) qualifiers.
With this move, Ochieng becomes the latest Kenyan player to join the Saudi Arabian league, following in the footsteps of other talented players who have made the move in recent years.
