Galatasaray, the Turkish Super Lig champions, have entered the fray to sign Victor Wanyama, joining arch-rivals Fenerbeche in the hunt for the Harambee Stars captain. The move comes just days after Fenerbeche reportedly made a cheeky bid for Wanyama.

According to European media outlets, Galatasaray has sent a delegation to London, led by Sukru Haznedar, to negotiate a possible transfer for Wanyama before the August 31 transfer deadline. However, it is unclear whether the bid is for a loan move or a permanent transfer.

Wanyama's future in North London remains uncertain, following his recent shaky form and injury struggles in Mauricio Pochettino's team. The 28-year-old was an unused substitute as Tottenham fought back from a goal down to defeat Aston Villa 3-1 in their opening Premier League game on Saturday.

Wanyama, who still has two years left on his contract, was limited to four starts in 13 Premier League appearances last season.
