Published on August 13, 2019, Bandari coach Bernard Mwalala is optimistic about the team's chances of qualifying for the CAF Confederations Cup second round.
Speaking after a barren draw with Al Ahly Shandy at Kasarani, Mwalala revealed that they are re-strategizing on their attack ahead of the second round contest in Sudan.
"We didn't know more of our opponents but now we will work on an early away goal to give them extra work," Mwalala said.
Despite the draw, Mwalala believes the game is still wide open, citing the previous encounter against St. Eloi Lupopo of DRC in 2016 as an example.
"Nil nil is better than conceding a goal at home and I believe the game is still wide open," he said.
Mwalala is also confident that the acquisition of Burundian goalkeeper Justin Ndikumana will add depth to their goalkeeping department.
Bandari will face Al Ahly Shandy in the return leg in Khartoum on Friday, 23 August, with the overall winner set to tackle the winner between Amarat of South Sudan and US Ben Guerdane of Tunisia in the second round.
