On August 13, 2019, Nairobi Woman Representative Esther Passaris sparked a Twitter conversation when she responded to a compliment from a follower named Barno.Onyi.
Passaris had accompanied opposition leader Raila Odinga to Maranda High School for a fundraiser, and Onyi tweeted that she looked 'hot'.
"Wow you are so hot ma'am. Can I invite you for coffee, please?" Onyi tweeted.
Passaris playfully called out Onyi's request, asking him to provide three reasons why she should have coffee with him.
"You got to give me three reasons why I should have a coffee with you? "You are so hot ma'am" won't cut it. Though I do like my coffee hot," Passaris responded.
Onyi failed to meet the challenge and promptly disappeared from the conversation.
