Published on August 13, 2019, a Metropolitan Police officer, PC Khafi Kareem, has found herself in hot water after appearing on the Nigerian version of Big Brother Naija without her bosses' permission.

According to Scotland Yard, the 29-year-old had been granted unpaid leave for an unrelated reason, but she went on the programme 'without authority.'

Ms Kareem, a favourite among fans for her happy-go-lucky attitude and witty contributions, is now facing an internal investigation.

She has taken to Twitter to invite people to vote for her to avoid eviction from the house on Sunday, saying 'tough times don't last but tough people do.'

However, her appearance on the show has sparked controversy, with the UK Sun newspaper alleging that she faces the sack for having sex on the show.

Ms Kareem has denied the allegations, calling the article a 'defamatory outburst' and requesting that the newspaper withdraw it.
