On August 13, 2019, Joe Mwangi, former manager of Wendy Waeni, took to Twitter to defend himself against allegations of not helping the 14-year-old and her mother.
According to Mwangi, he took Wendy's phone in April 2019, which led to the situation where he was accused of not helping her.
He dared Jeff Koinange to invite him for an interview on his show, #JKL, so that he could state his side of the story.
Mwangi also pointed fingers at Jeff Koinange and Chris Kirwa, accusing them of having personal issues with him and using Wendy to settle their scores.
Wendy had earlier stated that her mother never received a single penny from Mwangi, claims which he later refuted.
He shared screenshots on his Twitter account, stating that he pays Wendy's school fees apart from Interior CS Fred Matiang'i.
