Published on August 13, 2019, the Prinsloo Sevens tournament is set to kick off in Nakuru this weekend, with top teams competing for the championship title.
Group A will feature KCB, the champions of the Dala Sevens, alongside Northern Suburbs, Mwamba RFC, and the invitational side Mombasa RFC.
Mwamba RFC, who won the Challenge Trophy in Kisumu over the weekend, is targeting a maiden Prinsloo title after coming close but losing at the final hurdle in the past.
Menengai Oilers, who finished as finalists in the Dala Sevens, will be competing in Pool B alongside varsity side Masinde Muliro University, Kabras Sugar, and Egerton Wasps.
Impala Saracens, who finished third in the Prinsloo Sevens last year, will be competing in Pool C alongside Nondescripts, Western Bulls, and varsity side Strathmore Leos.
Host Top Fry Nakuru will be competing in Pool D alongside defending Prinsloo champions Menengai Cream Homeboyz, varsity side Blakblad, and Dala Division two champions Kenya Harlequins.
According to the current standings, KCB tops the National Sevens circuit with 59 points, followed closely by Mwamba RFC and Top Fry Nakuru, who are tied with 47 points.
