On Sunday, August 11, 2019, American Simone Biles solidified her position as the world's top gymnast with a remarkable winning performance at the U.S. Gymnastics Championships in Kansas City, Mo.

Biles made history by becoming the first woman in nearly 70 years to capture six U.S. senior women's all-around gymnastics titles, matching Clara Schroth Lomady's achievement in 1952.

Her impressive performance was marked by a groundbreaking triple-twisting, double back maneuver during her floor routine, a feat she successfully landed.

Despite her unprecedented move, Biles expressed her desire to improve, stating, "It was a lot better. It wasn’t as good as in some of the trainings," and "I’m just happy that I landed it because I feel like after night one my confidence got shot down. So I was really worried about it going into today, that’s all I could worry about. So I was really happy."

With a total score of 118.500, Biles outperformed Sunisa Lee (113.550) and Grace McCallum (111.850), cementing her position as the prohibitive favorite for the 2020 Tokyo Olympics.
