On August 12, 2019, detectives from the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) made a significant arrest at the Manyani Maximum Security Prison in Voi, Taita Taveta County.

Two prison wardens, William Chengo and Boniface Kipkorir, were apprehended after CCTV footage captured them hiding huge amounts of cocaine in a toilet.

The incident occurred on Monday, and the officers' actions were a clear breach of their duties and the law.
