Protesters Fill Hong Kong International Airport ¶
On August 12, 2019, thousands of protesters filled Hong Kong International Airport, stranding air passengers and grounding flights. The airport, one of the world's busiest, was forced to cancel all departing flights and prevent 70 flights from arriving.
According to the airport's website, operations were 'seriously disrupted' and all flights were canceled. Passengers were advised to leave the terminal buildings as soon as possible.

Airlines Affected ¶
More than 120 airlines fly in and out of Hong Kong International Airport, including major carriers like British Airways, American Airlines, and Cathay Pacific Airways. Several flights were canceled on August 12, 2019, including flights from United Airlines, American Airlines, and British Airways.
