Published on August 13, 2019, a clinical trial in the Democratic Republic of Congo has made a significant shift in its focus, narrowing down to two promising experimental Ebola treatments.
According to scientists leading the trial, the two treatments – Regeneron's REGN-EB3 and a monoclonal antibody called mAb114 – have shown encouraging results, prompting the trial to focus on these two drugs.
The other two experimental treatments, ZMapp and Remdesivir, made by Mapp Biopharmaceutical and Gilead Sciences respectively, will now be dropped from the trial.
