On Monday, Nairobi County football team kicked off the Inter-county Competition, KICOSCA, Games with a 1-1 draw against their Samburu counterparts in Kericho County.
Cyprus Oloo scored the opening goal for Nairobi in the 60th minute, tapping in a cross from Oliver Sambo. However, Jonothan Wasinale equalized 10 minutes later, forcing a draw.
Nairobi County was lively early on, with George Sunguti and Oloo enjoying plenty of ball supply, but they were unable to take their chances.
Samburu threatened with a counter-attack in the 20th minute, and Shukri Abdalla should have broken the deadlock had he applied a simple tap on James Lelesebi's cross.
Nairobi almost went 1-0 up in the last minute of the first half, but the woodwork denied Vincent Otieno a chance to net a perfectly placed free-kick.
The game remained level at halftime, and both teams continued to battle for the winning goal in the second half.
Nairobi survived a downfall after William Lapirie unleashed a powerful shot that missed the goal by an inch.
The game ended in a stalemate, with both teams unable to score the winning goal.
