The Belgian forward had joined Inter just days prior, completing a Sh9 billion move from Manchester United.
On the same day that United thrashed Chelsea 4-0 in their opening Premier League match, Lukaku was among the goals for Inter.
Inter head coach Antonio Conte handed Lukaku an opportunity to shine against Serie D minnows Bergamo, and the forward took advantage by scoring four times.
Inter will begin their Serie A campaign against newly-promoted Lecce at the San Siro on August 26.
Elsewhere, Paris-Saint Germain started their Ligue 1 campaign with a 3-0 victory over Nimes, with Edinson Cavani, Kylian Mbappe, and Angel Di Maria on the scoresheet.
