Meet Brian Ogutu, a second-year student at Maseno University who has turned his passion for photography into a thriving business. Since joining the university in 2017, Brian has been running his own photography business, 'Mtaani Photography', where he offers digital photo shoots to his fellow students.

Starting with just a smartphone, Brian's initial capital came from his savings and HELB allowances. Today, he has five Canon cameras that are in high demand among his peers, earning him between Sh1,000 and Sh5,000 per day.

Despite the challenges of balancing his studies with his business, Brian is determined to make a success of his venture. He credits photography with keeping him busy and away from idling, which he believes can lead to drug abuse and 'premature sex'. With his business thriving, Brian's future looks bright, and he is confident that his passion for photography will take him far.
