Martha Karua, leader of Nark-Kenya, has made a shocking claim about the 2017 elections in Kenya. In an interview with K24 TV, Karua alleged that President Kenyatta's Jubilee party interfered with the presidential, gubernatorial, senatorial, and parliamentary elections to ensure their candidates won.
According to Karua, this was the reason why she turned down Kenyatta's offer for a Cabinet position. She claimed that Jubilee party rigged her out in the Kirinyaga governor's race, which she lost to Jubilee's Anne Mumbi Kamotho.
On August 8, 2017, Karua garnered 116,626 votes (41 percent) in the Kirinyaga gubernatorial race, behind Kamotho who got 153,353 votes (53 percent).
