On August 12, 2019, Jalang'o, a popular radio comedian and Media Personality, announced the launch of his own music record label, Heavy J Music.
According to Jalang'o, his new venture aims to provide a platform for talented Kenyan artists to showcase their talents to the world. He made this announcement on his social media platforms, stating that he was motivated by his experience working with Fast-rising Kenyan star Masauti, who he believes has a lot of talent but lacks support and a platform to showcase his work.
"Kenya Music is going through a very interesting time, a time of growth and a time of prosperity, this is the time to give the artist what they deserve!" Jalang'o wrote on his Instagram page. "From the time I started working with @officialmasauti_, I learnt that there are many artists out there who are talented but just lack support, they need a bigger voice to showcase what they have!! This is the opportunity!! The opportunity is @heavyjmusic the new and the latest music label in town!
