Former Taveta MP Barsil Criticos is in mourning following the sudden death of his 32-year-old son, Alexander Thomas Criticos.

According to the former legislator, his son died of an undisclosed illness at their Nairobi home on Friday.

Barsil Criticos has disputed claims that his son committed suicide, stating that he had been battling a disease for the last four years and had recently returned from treatment in South Africa.

‘He definitely did not commit suicide. He died in Nairobi. He had been battling with this disease for the last four years and had just returned from South Africa from treatment,’ Criticos told The Star in a text message.

Barsil Criticos, who is currently out of the country, added that he did not want to disclose the nature of his son's illness publicly.

He stated that the body was taken to Lee Funeral home.
