On August 12, 2019, police in Kenya made a significant arrest in a case that highlights the dangers of reckless driving.

A driver and conductor of a matatu, identified as 33-year-old Naphtali Fondo and 20-year-old Alex Gikonyo, were taken into custody for allegedly pushing a 24-year-old man, Gerald Kimondo, from a moving vehicle, resulting in his death.

The incident occurred on a bus with the registration number KCC 021A, which belongs to the Zam Zam Sacco and operates on the Githurai route.

According to police, this is not the first time the bus has been involved in a fatal incident. In 2018, the same bus was involved in a similar case near the Safari Park Hotel, where a 20-year-old student, Doreen Kinya, lost her life.

Police detectives have established that the bus was involved in the previous incident, and the case is currently under investigation.
