August 12, 2019 - ANC leader Musalia Mudavadi has made significant strides in his presidential bid for 2022, setting up a Presidential Secretariat at Riverside in Nairobi. The secretariat has already hired top strategists who have worked for both President Uhuru Kenyatta and Raila Odinga.
According to sources, Mudavadi is also expected to fly to the US to set up his diaspora team as he readies for the 2022 contest.
“Musalia was the chairman of the Nasa presidential campaign. He interacted with everyone and knows those who were effective,” said an insider.
Among the notable people hired by Mudavadi are Eliud Owallo, a consultant who worked for Raila Odinga during his 2013 presidential bid, and Lawyer Charles Karanja, who chaired the Jubilee Appeals Tribunal.
Other members of the 15-member team assembled by Mudavadi include David Kabareri, Eliud Wafuko, and George Musyoka, who was the 2017 Team Uhuru campaign coordinator for Machakos, Makueni, and Kitui counties.
Media Personality Jimmy Gathu has been hired by the ANC leader to manage his communications as a media liaison boss.
