On August 8, 2019, a heinous crime shook the community in Chebunyo, Bomet County. A 25-year-old woman was brutally raped and stabbed multiple times in her private parts by a suspect who later fled the scene.
Thanks to a tip-off from members of the public, detectives from the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) were able to track down the suspect, identified as Bernard Ng'etich. He was arrested on Saturday and will be arraigned in court this week to face charges including rape.
The victim was rushed to the hospital by good Samaritans who found her bleeding profusely. Fortunately, she is in a stable condition and receiving medical attention.
