On Sunday evening, a devastating fire ravaged the residence of Homa Bay County Commissioner Harman Shambi in Homa Bay town, leaving a trail of destruction worth millions of shillings.

The fire, whose cause remains unknown, started at around 6:30pm from one of the rooms in the house.

Fortunately, the county commissioner and his family members, including children, were present in the house during the incident but escaped unharmed.

According to Mr. Shambi, no one was injured in the massive inferno, but unfortunately, everything in the house was destroyed, with no property salvaged.

Investigations have been launched to determine the cause of the fire.
