On Saturday night, two men lost their lives in separate incidents in Msambweni, Ukunda, Kwale County.
According to Area OCPD Nehemiah Bitok, one of the deceased, Sheikh Shee Omar from Mabokoni Mosque, was shot dead at around 9:30 pm.
Meanwhile, Bakari Dondo, the head of security in the area, had his throat slit in cold blood by 15 unknown assailants armed with guns, knives, and pangas.
Mr. Bitok assured the public of their safety, stating that the police were carrying out investigations to determine the motive behind the attacks and apprehend the perpetrators.
He urged anyone with information on the two incidents to report to the police station.
