Published on August 11, 2019, lawyer Miguna Miguna has taken 25 top government officials to court for denying him his Kenyan citizenship.
Among the defendants are Interior Cabinet Secretary Dr. Fred Matiang'i, Attorney General Paul Kihara Kariuki, and former Inspector General of Police Joseph Boinnet.
Miguna claims the defendants destroyed his Kenyan passport and other property, removed him from Kenya without notice, and breached his constitutional, legal, and human rights.
He alleges that he was physically assaulted, abducted, and detained under cruel, inhumane, and degrading conditions for six days at the Githunguri Police Station.
Miguna seeks the court's finding that the defendants are in contempt of court for disobeying separate court orders issued by various judges.
