Frank Lampard's tenure as Chelsea manager got off to a disastrous start with a 4-0 loss to Manchester United in their Premier League opener on August 11, 2019.
The defeat marked the heaviest suffered by a new Chelsea manager in the club's Premier League history, surpassing Danny Blanchflower's 7-2 loss to Middlesbrough in December 1978.
Lampard, who penned a three-year deal with the west London outfit, was unable to sign any new players due to a transfer ban imposed on the club.
Manchester United, on the other hand, enjoyed a perfect start to their campaign, with Marcus Rashford scoring a brace in the 18th and 59th minutes, respectively. Anthony Martial doubled the lead in the second half, while Daniel James sealed the win with a goal in the 81st minute.
According to Metro UK, the 4-0 victory marked Manchester United's biggest win over Chelsea in a top-flight match in over 50 years.
