On Sunday, a shocking incident occurred at a bar in Mathioya Constituency, Murang'a County, where a police officer lost his life.
The officer, a sergeant, walked into the bar alone at around 4pm and ordered a beer. He barely finished his first glass before slumping on the table, as if he was sleeping.
Revelers at the bar were oblivious to the officer's situation and allowed him to sleep for about 20 minutes before deciding to wake him up. However, they soon realized he was unconscious and called a medical officer from a nearby chemist, who confirmed the officer had passed away.
Mathioya Assistant County Commissioner Jamleck Mbumba confirmed the incident, stating that investigations are underway to determine the cause of the officer's death.
The officer's body was taken to Kiria-ini Mission Hospital morgue pending a postmortem.
