On Saturday night, a brutal attack shook a village in Kwale County, leaving two people dead and one abducted. The victims were identified as Omar Shehe Fuvwe, 51, an imam of Mabokoni mosque, and Bakari Dondo, a 50-year-old local elder.

According to police, about 20 armed men stormed the village at around 9:30 pm, wielding firearms and other weapons. The assailants slashed Fuvwe to death and abducted Dondo. Dondo's body was later found about a kilometre away from his home, with the head missing.

The motive behind the killings remains unknown, and police have launched an investigation to unravel the circumstances. Police boss Nehemiah Bitok stated that the body parts of the two victims were in a bad state, with deep Panga cuts inflicted. The gunmen escaped on foot after the incident.

The bodies were moved to Kwale County Hospital mortuary, and police have not indicated whether any suspect was arrested or the motive of the killings.
